POSITION TITLE: Partnerships Lead 

20 hours per week, permanent role 

$75k - 85K (pro rata) depending on experience 

 REPORTS TO: Artistic Director, Business Development Manager 

DIRECT REPORTS:  none

LOCATION:  Lake House Arts Centre, Takapuna, Auckland

 ROLE PURPOSE: 

This is a new role for our organisation, to establish and grow a portfolio of partnerships. We are an Auckland based and focussed charity that is delivering great outcomes for children and young people throughout the Auckland region through our professional theatre productions, accessible performances and Youth Theatre programmes. 

 The Partnerships Lead role will be responsible for growing external relationships and ensuring all sponsorships are successfully implemented. 

 As the end-to-end owner of TBTC’s corporate sponsorships, you will be a strong relationship builder who can identify and attract new partnerships, scope exciting opportunities and manage all sponsorship activation. This includes writing proposals, executing campaigns, managing events and knowing when to draw on the expertise of others in the Marketing and office teams. 

 Our Marketing Manager is responsible for creating and delivering external publicity of community and customer programmes. 

 

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES/RESPONSIBILITIES 

 Tim Bray Theatre Company (TBTC) Partnership Strategy 
  • Create and deliver the TBTC Partnership Strategy
  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships with all TBTC partner organisations
  • Write proposals 
  • Establish and manage partnership contracts
  • Champion creativity through being the knowledgeable expert of sponsorship trends and innovation
  • Research and scope new partnership opportunities to attract additional funding (in consultation with TBTC Marketing Manager, Business Development Manager and Artistic Director)
  Sponsorship Implementation
  • Execute the delivery of sponsorship and partnership activation requirements across all required marketing and communication channels
  • Ensure partnership objectives are met or exceeded
  • Responsible for communications with partners (external) and about partners (internal), in consultation with others in the Marketing and management team
  • Compile all required sponsorship reporting 
  • Manage all required events ensuring the co-ordination of all appropriate colleagues and Health and Safety requirements are met (in consultation with the Health & Safety Manager)
  • Continually seek and promote creative and innovative activation solutions that will excite and delight our partners
 Brand Integration 
  • Ensure all partners’ brand guidelines and logos are current and used correctly by TBTC
  • Promote and protect the TBTC brand, through supplying logo guidelines and managing third party usage 
 Budgets 
  • A small sponsorship budget is available in the first year. This can grow in time.
  • Compile and deliver appropriate financial reports in a timely manner
  • Fiscal negotiations with external suppliers 
 Collaboration 
  • Support event or activation requirements of the wider Marketing and office team
  • Maintain effective relationships with external agencies, media buyers and other suppliers to support the promotion and delivery of sponsorships
  • Champion best practise relationship building within the organisation
  • Collaborate with the Marketing Manager and others in the management team across the organisation to ensure partnership requirements are integrated and achieved
  • Support the Marketing Manager on special projects as required.

 

 Competencies, Skills and Experience                                                                                                        

  • A tertiary qualification in Marketing, Event Management, Communications or equivalent work experience 
  • Exceptional ability to manage and grow relationships. Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to build productive working relationships internally and externally
  • Knowledge and understanding of the NFP sector in New Zealand
  • Expert in attracting and delivering corporate sponsorships or not for profit partnerships.
  • Highly skilled in sponsorship activation or campaign delivery
  • Experienced in identifying and gaining income through sponsorships or fundraising 
  • Knowledge and expertise in Microsoft Office products (in particular Team) and CRM system (we use Infoodle) 
  • Results-driven work ethic 
  • Excellent time management skills and the ability to manage a number of tasks simultaneously and effectively
  • Enthusiasm for promoting the performing arts
  • Possessing initiative, and the ability to work with a minimum of supervision
