Position Description - Fundraising Manager
Well Foundation is the official charity of North Shore Hospital, Waitākere Hospital and community health services across West Auckland, North Shore and Rodney.
Through the generosity of their supporters, Well Foundation has successfully funded more than 70 projects since 2015; raising more than $12 million dollars for health projects that benefit their community. Our projects range from mental health and oral health projects in schools, through to multi-million-dollar projects to help create state-of-the-art facilities within our hospitals.

MAIN PURPOSE OF POSITION |
To implement, grow and manage key fundraising programmes for the Foundation. The Fundraising Manager will work with the Director of Fundraising and Communications to develop and implement a coordinated, integrated and enduring fundraising plan. To develop, manage, implement, monitor and evaluate fundraising activity, including individual giving, mid donor programmes, peer to peer, digital and community fundraising. |

Planning |
· Work with Director of Fundraising and Communications to develop annual fundraising plans that meet required financial targets · Implementing the annual plan as required, meeting identified objectives |
Individual Giving |
· Develop, support and grow the Foundation’s individual giving programmes, including regular giving, bequests and grateful patients · Work with the Director of Fundraising and Communications to ensure digital acquisition and conversion of the engaged community is effective · Build relationships and acquire mid-level donors through the local business community and business associations · Support the Director of Fundraising and Communications as and when necessary with major donor solicitation, retention and research |
Communications |
· Create and post stories and content to all social media channels and websites in line with agreed strategy and plan · Create content and distribute monthly eDM to Foundation database · Ensure Well Foundation website is up to date, engaging and traffic is monitored and reported to the wider team |
Community Fundraising |
· Research community fundraising opportunities for the Foundation and help grow a portfolio of community and peer to peer fundraisers · Attend networking and public speaking opportunities at community organisations · Manage requests from the community for assistance with setting up pages on peer to peer fundraising platforms such as Givealittle and provide support to fundraisers as they undertake their challenge · Support all community fundraising events and attend whenever possible · Appropriate stewardship and thanking of all community donors · Feed in community stories and content to the communications calendar |
Database & Reporting |
· Maintain accurate and clean donor data · Track all potential and actual donors, campaigns and opportunities in the CRM, to allow for accurate measurement and planning of activity · Work closely with the organisation’s Business Support Executive to ensure best practice for the CRM · Provide accurate and regular reporting on fundraising programmes against target to the Director of Fundraising and Communications |
Grants |
· Assist Director of Fundraising and Communications with the Trusts and Foundations programme as required. Including information gathering, grant application writing and accountability reporting |
Events |
· Plan and execute mid-level donor events with the support of the wider Foundation team · Assist the Director of Fundraising and Communications with major donor event planning, execution and follow-up stewardship |
Relationship and Communications |
· Develop and maintain strong collegial relationships with the DHB staff |
Professional Development |
· Establish annual goals, objectives and performance targets and create strategies to achieve them · Attend educational opportunities, conferences, training courses |
General |
· Undertake other activities as may be required from time to time as directed by the Director of Fundraising and Communications. · Monitor fundraising developments in the fundraising sector in New Zealand and overseas |

Qualifications |
· A tertiary qualification in a relevant field is desirable |
Experience |
· Minimum 5 years previous broad fundraising experience · First-hand experience of developing and delivering fundraising and/or marketing strategies · Proven marketing, communications and customer relations experience · A successful track record in delivering fundraising plans |
Technical Skills and Knowledge |
· Well-developed skills in digital fundraising, social media campaigns and project management · Competent user of CRM tools · Computer literate with the ability to use and exploit modern communication technologies and mediums · High degree of confidence in MS Office · Understanding of the New Zealand health sector preferred but not essential. |
