We rely on the generosity of everyday New Zealanders to meet the ongoing needs of our community. With their help people with CF and their families receive personalised support from our team of CF Social Workers, financial assistance during hospitalisations and hardship, mobile medical equipment and more.

We also contribute to promising CF research projects and advocate on behalf of the community for better access to treatment and care.

Position Summary

This is a real hands-on job. You’ll be working as part of the Fundraising and Marketing team you will play a pivotal role in connecting with our incredible supporters and engaging with the CF community.

You will help with content creation for both community engagement and fundraising, supporting the regular giving programme, working with agencies and contractors to deliver the annual schedule of mail and email appeals, uploading website content, coordinating campaigns, contributing to campaign creatives, and assisting with the marketing of support services and updates. You’ll also assist with community fundraising initiatives and corporate supporter strategy.

Position Responsibilities


Tasks & Outcomes

Individual Giving Fundraising Support

·         Support the Fundraising & Marketing Manager to ensure end to end delivery of campaigns within the fundraising plan.

·         Support with the development and implementation of the direct mail and digital fundraising strategy, including annual giving campaigns, lead generation acquisition campaigns, and direct to donate fundraising campaigns.

·         Help develop an excellent donors experience through onboarding, the donor journey, and all digital touchpoints – using a variety of platforms.

·         Help implement strategies for solicitation that will grow annual revenue from individuals, including managing appeal campaigns and online giving initiatives.

·         Leverage opportunities to obtain the expected annual fundraising goals, and the retaining of donors/new donors.

·         Assist with the coordination and briefing of stakeholders, external suppliers, and vendors.

·         Monitor results monthly by each campaign and provide monthly reports to the Fundraising & Marketing Manager on results, fundraising issues, and donor trends.

Peer to Peer Fundraising Support

·         Respond promptly to community fundraisers’ requests.

·         Support with the coordination of community fundraising activities, such as Sweatember and CF Awareness Month.

·         Ensure consistent and high standards of support.

Digital Marketing

·         Assist with digital marketing across both fundraising and community engagement, including SEO, Facebook ad campaigns and Google ads, Mailchimp, etc.

·         Proactively lead a target-led, data-driven approach to the planning and delivery of digital marketing.

Website Management & Development

·         Help manage web content and continued development to and campaign/fundraising pages.

·         Website is updated with new content as required to attract new visitors, encourage returning visitors and donations.

·         Prepare quarterly website performance reports and opportunities for improvement.


·         Support the Communications Coordinator with communication channels such as the e-newsletter, CF News magazine, annual report, social media updates, and advocacy communications as required.

·         Provide support with email marketing, including developing supporter communications and align mail and email appeals with current CFNZ campaigns.

Provision for other related activities

·         Other duties are carried out to agreed standard and timeframes.

·         Undertake other reasonable duties as required by the Fundraising & Marketing Manager.

Key Attributes







Minimum of two years marketing or fundraising experience



Experience in digital marketing



Content creation or copywriting experience



Demonstratable experience with a range of marketing tactics



Experience with individual giving acquisition techniques






Some understanding of cause marketing and/or fundraising principles



Knowledge of Adobe Suite including InDesign






Excellent organisational and project management skills



Creative problem-solving and plenty of initiative



Meticulous attention to detail



‘Plain English’ written and verbal communication skills
